What is a double head cable tie used for?
It is a specialized tie used for creating secure mid-span lashing, forming "X" or "H" patterns to organize parallel wire runs, or bundling two separate objects together. It provides a tidy, professional harness look.
How do I install a double head tie?
Form a loop with the tie around the items to be bundled. Thread one end through the locking head on the opposite end, and pull tight. Repeat for the other side. It effectively creates two connected loops from one piece.
What are common applications?
They are widely used in aerospace wiring, complex industrial control panels, data server racks, and theatrical/event lighting rigs where precise, organized, and high-integrity cable management is essential.
Can I use two standard ties instead?
While possible, a double head tie is neater, uses less material, and provides a more integrated and often stronger connection point at the center where the two bundles meet.
Are they available in different materials?
Primarily made from standard or high-performance Nylon 66. For extreme environments, we can supply them in stainless steel or with a stainless steel inlay for added security.
At ETL, we deliver end-to-end expert support alongside custom cable tie solutions — including material upgrades, surface treatments, and brand customization.
