What is the main benefit of a nylon tie with a stainless steel inlay?
It combines the easy, low-cost installation of a standard nylon tie with enhanced security. The concealed stainless steel inlay in the lock head makes it difficult to cut with simple tools, offering tamper-resistant and theft-deterrent properties.
Where are these security ties commonly used?
Ideal for securing utility boxes, meters, electronic enclosures, retail displays, and in public infrastructure where vandalism or unauthorized access is a concern.
Can they be removed without destruction?
Typically, no. They are designed as one-time-use, permanent fasteners. Removal usually requires cutting the nylon body with a blade that can also cut the metal inlay, which is intentionally difficult.
Do they have the same temperature range as all-stainless ties?
No. The temperature limit is determined by the nylon outer jacket (typically up to 85°C). They are not suitable for the extreme high-temperature applications of all-stainless ties.
How do I install them?
They install exactly like a standard nylon cable tie—by hand or with a standard nylon tie tensioning tool, making them very user-friendly compared to all-metal ties.
At ETL, we deliver end-to-end expert support alongside custom cable tie solutions — including material upgrades, surface treatments, and brand customization.
